Background
Rob grew up fishing the waters of South Florida. From canals and streams to the beach and piers, if he had a rod in his hand, he was happy. He always dreamed one day he could find a way to make a living doing that very thing.
Rob graduated high school and enlisted in the US Navy in 2000. He served from 2000-2005 as a Nuclear Electrician’s Mate. Shortly after getting out he finished his Degree in Nuclear Engineering. He took a job in Starkville, MS at a steel mill as an electrician/coder/automation engineer. It was there he met his wife Ashley and they were married in 2009.
2012 would be the year that changed their lives forever. They were offered an opportunity to buy the small-town Veterinary Clinic where his wife had been working. They also found out Ashley was pregnant with their son Ryan who would be born on December 27th.
Fishing was the last thing on his mind at the start of 2013 with a new struggling business and a newborn in the house. By 2019 things started changing. The business was doing well, and Ryan had started school. Rob was already running the business day to day from home and he realized he might have an opportunity to start pursuing his dream.
At the start of 2020 he had a conversation with his wife, and they agreed he should go for it. Rob purchased his first boat and proceeded to spend over 200 days on the water in 2020. The plan was simple. Spend 2020 training and getting back in “fishing shape” then in 2021 do it as a career.
